Crossing Border Festival
- Date:
- Location: Koninklijke Schouwburg
From November 5 to 9, the Koninklijke Schouwburg will once again host Crossing Border, one of Europe’s longest-running and most innovative literature and (pop) music festivals.
More than 100 international writers and musicians will come to The Hague, featuring both established names and emerging talent.
The first lineup of artists has already been announced, including literary luminaries such as Sandro Veronesi, Antjie Krog, and Kamel Daoud. In the music program, you can look forward to acts like Annahstasia and Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek. And the beloved Spiegeltent is back on the Lange Voorhout, opposite the Schouwburg!
The full program will be announced later. For the current program, practical information, and tickets, visit the Crossing Border website.
International literary and music stars like Salman Rushdie, Sally Rooney, Colson Whitehead, Nick Cave, and Hilary Mantel have graced the Crossing Border stage over the past three decades. But they are equally excited about the emerging talents that have performed there.

Highlights from past literary programs include:
Isabel Allende, Michael Cunningham, Dave Eggers, Allen Ginsberg, Germaine Greer, Michel Houellebecq, Karl Ove Knausgård, Elmore Leonard, Norman Mailer, Hilary Mantel, Ian McEwan, Marilynne Robinson, Sally Rooney, Salman Rushdie, David Sedaris, and Colson Whitehead.
