No Other Land follows Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta in the West Bank, who has been fighting against the mass expulsion of his community by Israeli authorities since his youth. He documents the destruction of villages in his region, where Israeli soldiers gradually demolish homes and displace residents. At one point, he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist, and an unlikely friendship develops between them. While Yuval supports Basel in his efforts, their bond is strained by the stark inequality between them: Basel lives under military occupation, while Yuval lives freely and without restrictions.
No Other Land, created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective consisting of Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor, serves as an act of creative resistance and strives for justice in the ongoing conflict. The documentary had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival, where it won the Panorama Dokumente Audience Award and the Berlinale Documentary Award. Since then, the film has been showcased at various international festivals and has received numerous awards.
