Judas and the Black Messiah follows William O’Neal, a young Black man pressured by the FBI to infiltrate the Black Panther Party in Illinois. There, he meets Fred Hampton, the charismatic and inspiring leader of the chapter, who quickly becomes a dangerous target in the eyes of the authorities.
O’Neal faces a choice between prison and espionage. Initially detached from the Panthers’ ideals, he becomes increasingly drawn into their struggle, discovering a fight that hits close to home. Caught between the FBI and the Black Panthers, O’Neal finds himself in a growing moral and emotional conflict where loyalty, betrayal, and justice collide.
On the 24th of October, Smibanese University (led by Prof. Soortkill) will be taking over the Black Achievement Month program with Judas and the Black Messiah. There will be a discussion after the movie.
