Mariëlle Vavier

Mariëlle Vavier is The Hague’s Deputy Mayor for Poverty, Inclusion, Public Health and International Affairs. She previously worked as board secretary at Jeugdbescherming West, an institution for youth protection and youth probation. For her political party GroenLinks she has been, among other things, support group member for the GroenLinks provincial parliamentary group (2011 to 2015), representative for the GroenLinks municipal council group (2016 to 2018), GroenLinks municipal group chair (2021). In 2022 she was party leader for the municipal elections in The Hague. In September 2022, she was installed as Deputy Mayor for a period of four years.
