Opening of the Nomadic Monument for Gaza – Talks and Debate

  • Date: 09 September
  • Time: 19:30 - 22:00
  • Location: Het Nationale Theater - Theater aan het Spui

In the middle of the foyer of Theater aan het Spui, you step into a space of stillness. You find yourself in the Nomadic Monument for Gaza. This traveling art installation invites you to pause and reflect on the victims in Gaza. On Tuesday, September 9, the monument will be officially opened, followed by a program featuring conversations and debate about architecture and the disappearance of stories.

Chris Keulemans will lead the evening, with contributions from, among others, actor and writer Ramsey Nasr, architect Eric Vreedenburgh, and visual artist Hans Rikken. Younis Al-Khatib, president of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), a sister organization of the Red Cross, will also visit the monument. After the program, there will be space for connection, conversation, and Palestinian snacks in the foyer. Tickets for the opening are available at various prices, and all proceeds will go towards the reconstruction of art initiatives in Gaza via the HOPE Foundation.

This event will take place in Dutch.
