In Thailand, becoming a police officer comes with a perk: a government-issued apartment for the entire family in the local “police flats.” In one of these buildings, Jane and Ann grow up together—separated by floors, but also by social status. As the daughter of a not-always-honest sergeant, Jane enjoys a life of relative comfort, while her best friend Ann carries the weight of supporting her family after her father’s death.
When a young police officer named Tong moves into the building, the dynamic between Jane and Ann begins to shift. Budding love, jealousy, shattered dreams, and the gap between their social classes begin to crack their once-unbreakable bond. Flat Girls explores how money and status seep into every layer of Thai society, while also reflecting the country’s growing openness—where queerness is becoming increasingly normalized.
From the producers of the Thai box office hit How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies.
